Once you have activated the Classic Widgets plugin, go to the Appearance » Widgets screen in your WordPress admin area. You will now notice that the classic widgets interface is available for use. Look for the “Enable accessibility mode” link in the top right corner of the screen. Simply click on this link to activate accessibility mode.
Adding Widgets Effortlessly
With accessibility mode enabled, the Widgets screen will refresh and present you with a new interface. This interface allows you to add widgets by clicking on the “Add” link next to the widget title. Clicking on the “Add” link will open the widget on a separate page, where you can easily configure its settings.
Begin by giving the widget a title and selecting any desired options. In the lower half of the page, choose the sidebar or widget area where you want to add the widget. You can also use the position dropdown to determine the widget’s placement within the selected sidebar.
For example, if you want the widget to appear at the top of the sidebar, select “Sidebar” from the list on the left and choose “Position 1” from the dropdown menu on the right.
Once you are satisfied with the widget settings, click the “Save Widget” button to return to the widget screen.
Managing Widgets in Accessibility Mode
Accessibility mode also provides convenient “Edit” buttons for active widgets. Clicking on the “Edit” button will take you back to the widget settings, allowing you to make changes or even delete the widget by selecting the “Inactive Widgets” option at the bottom of the page.
Remember to click the “Save Widget” button after making any modifications.
Enhance Your WordPress Experience
By enabling accessibility mode for WordPress widgets, you can have greater control over the appearance and functionality of your website. Say goodbye to the frustrations of drag-and-drop and experience the ease of adding widgets with simple links.
