If you’re an avid Twitter user and rely on Google FeedBurner for email subscriptions, we have exciting news for you! Google has recently introduced a new feature to FeedBurner that allows bloggers to effortlessly update their Twitter status. Say goodbye to manual updates – now, FeedBurner will take care of it all for you. Ready to set this up? Let’s go through the process step by step.
Setting Up Automatic Twitter Updates using Google FeedBurner
- Login to your FeedBurner account and navigate to the ‘Publicize’ section. In the left-hand menu, click on ‘Socialize’ and then select ‘Add a Twitter account’. Grant FeedBurner access to update your Twitter account through the authorization page. Once done, proceed to the next step.
Note: In the above example, we’ve added a Twitter account (@exampleuser) to demonstrate the process.
- Choose a format for your Twitter updates. Personalize how your posts will appear by selecting the content, hashtags, additional text, item limit, and item order. Refer to the example below to get ideas about different formatting options.
Preview and adjust your format preferences. Determine how you want your items to be ordered and specify any keywords you want to include in your Twitter content. Once you’ve made your selections, you’ll get a preview of how your Twitter updates will look.
Activate the service: This is the key step that brings everything together. After following the previous steps, it’s important to activate the auto-tweet feature by clicking the button located at the bottom of the form on your ‘Publicize’ page.
That’s it! From now on, whenever you update your blog, your Twitter account will automatically reflect the changes. We would love to hear about your experience with auto-tweeting and if you use any other tools to promote your latest blog posts. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
